That crisp air lets us know that winter is on its way. This winter, our travels and family fun might look a little different than previous years, keeping things close to home. This unique time allows us to discover some local gems, right here at home in Saskatchewan.

To continue the winter fun and family time, we’ve compiled a list of 14 SaskTel customers that are must-visit destinations for some outdoor fun throughout the province.

Table Mountain Regional Park: The Battlefords
A Saskatchewan favourite, Table Mountain offers something fun for every level of skier and snowboarder. This park features 45 acres of groomed runs, mogul runs, and a terrain park. As of January, the park will also offer unique night skiing and snowboarding one day a week.

Little Red River Park: Prince Albert
Enjoy 30 kilometres of nature at Little Red River Park. This 500-hectare landscape offers trails for both cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There are 12 maintained cross-country skiing trails that vary in difficulty and range from one to six kilometres in length.

The Rink at City Square: Regina
Just steps away from Regina’s downtown shops and restaurants lies The Rink at City Square. Enjoy fun for the whole family with an afternoon or evening of skating.

Rough Rider Snowmobile Club: Preeceville
Three hundred kilometres of snowmobiling trails span the east central part of Saskatchewan through Preeceville, Sturgis, Crystal Lake, Endeavour, Reserve, and Lintlaw. These groomed trails are safe and fun for snowmobiling enthusiasts. Along the groomed trails are shelters, wood sheds, and pit toilets.

Optimist Hill Snow Park: Saskatoon
Winter outdoor fun is just steps away at Optimist Hill Snow Park. This beautiful space offers a full range of outdoor recreational activities – tubing, tobogganing, downhill skiing, and snowboarding. There’s something enjoyable for all ages.

Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink at Nutrien Plaza: Saskatoon
Located in the heart of Saskatoon next to some historical landmarks is Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink. Whether on a date night or wanting a place to take the family for a day of fun, this skating rink offers warm-up areas, washrooms, and even skate rentals.

Douglas Park Hill: Regina
The perfect place to head out for a day of outdoor activities – Douglas Park Hill. It’s time to dust off your favourite toboggan, bundle up, and enjoy some outdoor fun!

Cypress Hills Park: Cypress Hills
Outdoor adventures for everyone! Cypress Hills Park hosts a range of outdoor activities year round. In the winter, you can enjoy skating, snowshoeing, tobogganing, geocaching, as well as over 17 kilometres of groomed skiing/snowboarding trails for beginners to intermediate.

Enchanted Forest Holiday Light Tour: Saskatoon
SaskTel is proud to be a sponsor of this year's Enchanted Forest Holiday Light Tour. Celebrate the upcoming holiday season with a beautiful light show! Bring a mug of some yummy hot chocolate and drive through the spectacular light tour. This holiday event runs nightly from November 20 to January 3.

Moose Mountain Provincial Park: Kenosee
Looking for some outdoor fun the whole family can enjoy? Moose Mountain offers a great location to enjoy all your favourite outdoor activities from cross country skiing and snowshoeing, to tobogganing.

Wascana Trails: Regina
Just minutes outside of Regina are the enchanting Wascana Trails. This beautiful valley is available for year round outdoor activities. In the winter, you can enjoy hiking, walking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. It is also pet friendly for those with fur babies – just be sure to follow the on-leash guidelines.

Mission Ridge: Fort Qu’Appelle
First time skiing or snowboarding? Mission Ridge offers lessons and equipment rentals, making a weekend of fun easy to come by and no hassle. And for those who may be beginners, Mission Ridge also has two magic carpet runs specifically designed for first-time snowboarders and skiers to learn to ride.

100,000 Lakes and Rivers
Saskatchewan is a premier North American freshwater fishing destination and home to 100,000 lakes and rivers. If you are looking for a unique adventure this winter, you’ll want to try ice fishing at Piprell Lake, Last Mountain Lake, or the Fishing Lakes in the Qu’Appelle Valley. Some of the most common fish in the area include trout, walleye, perch, and pike. If you’re lucky, you might just catch one.

The Great Outdoors
For lovers of the great outdoors, there are a wide variety of Geocaching spots throughout the province.
